Oh dear what a week we have had !
It has been so traumatic for everyone but also amazing to hear all about the kindness that has been shown to complete strangers. Things are still changing fast and all hall and venues we use have been closed for now.
The dogs are now aware that things arent right. They love the idea that you are there all the time but they no longer get any rest so some are getting hyper. Walks are strange now as there are so many people about and everything smells different. We need to take care of them folks. Our Vets cannot help if they take ill so now is the time to establish a routine for them.
Every day make sure they have time to rest, exercise and then do something with you. Make a plan and stick to the routine. A short walk several times is best while keeping your distance. If there is more than one of you in the house go separately please and keep your dog on a lead. If you need some ideas contact me or take a look at my circuit training leaflet. CIRCUIT TRAINING
Do remember that teaching some tricks or doing some sniffing will tire your dog out so why not sign up for an online course. Here are some ideas ON LINE TRAINING
and check out our free beginners Scentwork course.
Something for all our children to do is write about their rescue dog. 500 words and a small donation to dog rescue will enter you in a competition to maybe win a beautiful hand drawn portrait of your dog. And we have t left out the adults - they have their own competition so get writing - we can’t wait to read all those lovely stories about the rescue dogs. find out more here. WRITING COMPETITION
