How and why we work
Do you want to know what the most obvious thing I see when I first meet a client? Most of the dogs aren’t listening to their owners! Maybe there never has been a bond as it’s a new relationship or maybe something has gone wrong. What I do know is if that bond has gone, that’s the first thing you need to rebuild and practice amongst friends is very important which is why our dog training groups are so popular.
As the owner of 34 German Shepherd Dogs, in fact at one time we had 9 all at the same time, I have learnt a lot. Well they have taught me a lot. Over the decades, I have trained many thousands of dogs in all sorts of circumstances and so the stories I am told, don't surprise me. However, I do know that we need to adapt to each situation or circumstance.
Which is why when I see you as my client, I will be asking lots of questions and this is always done on a 121 basis. I can also share with you some of the training ideas and drills that I use in a group session, so you know what to practice when you join a group.
Sometimes you need a specific class such as obedience or scentwork and sometimes it can be as easy going for regular walks and time spent doing nothing together. That all depends on the type of dog you have but relationships need work so if you’d like some help, then get in touch with me today. I have two spaces left for some help in the Autumn so don’t leave it too long.
Why not c heck out our events diary for the next couple of months and see if there's something you would like to try with your dog? #2024dates from Walkabout is here!
